inside my birchbox, april 2012

There’s been a lot in the news lately about the dangers of nail polish. With the amount of polish and remover I use, it’s definitely something to keep in mind. While it’s almost impossible to go all natural or organic on your nails (I don’t think neon pink is readily found in nature), I do make an effort to use natural products as much as I can in the rest of my skincare and makeup routine.

I was jazzed to open my April Birchbox over the weekend and find it jam-packed with all-natural goodies.

1. Befine Daily Moisturizer and Gentle Cleanser with Sugar, Mint, Oats & Rice. I tried the moisturizer yesterday, and I was impressed with its consistency and non-greasy finish. I’ll have to try this a few more times to make sure it doesn’t break me out, but so far, so good!

2. Le Palais des Thes Tea Bags.

3. dirt. Luxe Salt Scrub – Lemon Leaf. I used this scrub on my hands last night – it really smoothed out the scraggly skin around my cuticles. The ingredients are very D.I.Y. – you’ll recognize everything on this label.

4. Vapour Organic Beauty Siren Lipstick in Ravish. This nice-sized lipstick goes on smoothly and is a bit sheer, which makes it very wearable, even in this dark shade. I think this is my favorite item in the box.

5. Amika Nourishing Hair Mask. I don’t usually use hair masks, so I’m curious to see if this makes a difference for my dry hair.

Such a good Birchbox this month! If you’re a subscriber, I’d love to hear what you got in yours.
